The euro (EUR) is the currency of the European Union and one of the world's leading reserve currencies. It is legal tender in Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Slovenia, France, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, Finland, Luxembourg and other eurozone member states. One euro is subdivided into 100 cents. Coins are denominated 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents and 1 and 2 euro; banknotes are denominated 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 euro.
