The Belarusian ruble (BYR) was the former official currency of Belarus, in circulation until the redenomination of 1 July 2016. One Belarusian ruble was subdivided into 100 kopecks. Banknotes in circulation were denominated 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000, 5000, 20000, 50000 and 100000 rubles. The ISO numeric code for the old Belarusian ruble is 974.
